OUR STORY
Founded in 1993, Camelot is an ode to India's Colonial and Art Deco periods. Over the past thirty years, we have built a treasure trove of original Colonial and Art Deco furniture, sourced from the nation's heartland and some of its most remote estates.
Starting as a retail store, focused on sourcing and restoring vintage furniture from across the country. Today, we work closely with architects and interior designers to manufacture custom pieces ranging from colonial and Art Deco to contemporary, hand-crafted using hardwood, stone and metal.
The spirit of Camelot undeniably lies in our meticulous restoration and manufacturing processes. From our third-generation craftsmen to our use of reclaimed wood, authenticity and sustainability remain the pillars of our brand.
OUR PROCESS
At Camelot, we are committed to maintaining a high standard of environmental responsibility. Therefore, we strive to primarily use reclaimed, recycled and ethically sourced hardwoods to restore and manufacture our furniture. From bidding at auctions for large logs of old Burma teak, Rosewood, and mahogany to ethically sourcing exotic woods such as satin wood, camphor, and ebony from remote areas, Camelot is dedicated to sustainability. Our pieces are restored for lifetimes and generations. Our restored furniture from the Art Deco style and Colonial era is designed to retell not only the stories of India's history, but of your home and the memories within it.
OUR CRAFTSMEN
The craftsmen at Camelot are all second and third generation workers who have learnt the art of woodwork and furniture restoration from their forefathers. Today, they are skilled to build handcrafted designs ranging from classic colonial pieces to modern and contemporary pieces, all the while using traditional dovetail mortise and tenon joinery.
